Boots are an amazing piece of PPE for lineworkers. Steel toe or composite toe boots will be heavier but offer more protection for when a pole goes to rolling or a ground hand drops a wrench on your foot.
My personal recommendation is non-slip, composite toe boots. Non-slip because hydraulic fluid will eventually make its way under your feet, and composite toe because your toes will be protected by a non-conductive hard shell.
